Welcome

At Warrington Borough Transport, we are committed to providing the best possible passenger transport service for everyone who lives, visits and does business in Warrington. This means a safe, reliable, sustainable network underpinned by a strong customer focus. We strive to lead, setting benchmarks rather than following them, and will seek to play an integral, active role in the continued development and regeneration of the community we serve.

THORN CLOSE/MAPLE CRESCENT, PENKETH
*** now postponed for up to four weeks ***
(were to have commenced 26th July 2010)

A further phase of the water main renewal project in Penketh leads to a closure of the above roads from Monday 26th July 2010. Service 31 will be diverted to operate only to Neville Crescent, returning to Warrington Road and then direct to Penketh Widnes Road. The works expected to be in operation for up to six months.

Please note that if poor parking on Neville Crescent precludes safe operation along that road, then regrettably, the bus service will stay on Warrington Road and not serve the estate.

CHAPEL ROAD, PENKETH
commencing 19th July 2010

Due to further roadworks and the consequent closure of part of Chapel Road in Penketh, Service 32 will be diverted to operate both ways along Tannery Lane, and a loop of Station Road, Chapel Road, Falmouth Drive and Weir Lane will be introduced. The works (water main renewal) are expected to be in operation for up to six weeks.

Please note that if poor parking on the revised terminal loop (Station Road/Chapel Road) precludes safe operation along those roads, then regrettably, the bus service will terminate at Penketh, Widnes Road and not serve the estate.

LIVERPOOL ROAD RAILWAY BRIDGE (CROSFIELDS BRIDGE), WARRINGTON
commencing 1st August 2010

The bridgeworks have reached a stage where the road has re-opened and bus services have reverted back to their normal route(s).

SUNDAY SERVICE REVISIONS
commencing on Sunday 27th June 2010

All of our Sunday bus services will be revised on the above date. This is due to the cancellation of Sunday local bus contracts by Warrington Borough Council following their budget consultation earlier this year.

Timetables for all of our revised Sunday Services are available to download here and to view and print from the individual service timetables on the Journey Planning section of this website.

"WBT regret the changes being made to Sunday bus services from 27 June. However we have been left with no choice but to introduce a revised level of service following the Borough Council's decision to cancel all Sunday bus service contracts."
